Hugo Shum is a young puppeteer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He's 17 and specializes in moving mouth/hand puppets, though he has also worked with rod and tabletop puppets. Hugo has contributed to numerous projects, including his Halloween show Spooky Squeals and Stinky Tales's: Twinkle Twinkle Shoot, Folkmanis 70th Anniversary Video, and puppets from his school's production of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. He has taught a workshop at the Northern California Puppetry Festival and received training and mentorship from Muppet performers, and serves on the board of the San Francisco Bay Area Puppeteers Guild, where he manages their social media. Hugo is always seeking new opportunities to learn, improve his craft, and collaborate with others.
